Sponsored Programs Office has developed a step-by-step process that promotes and fosters sponsored projects while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, local, and University regulations and standards. This streamlined approach empowers researchers to move us forward as a top-tier research university and realize even greater efficiencies.

Find Funding

There are two main sources of funds for research and other projects: external and internal. The funding for internal research programs is very limited and devoted to supplying seed money or support.

Proposal Planning

Information, resources, and tools to assist in the planning and writing proposals.

Proposal Submission

All proposals for external funding should be received by Research Administrative Services at least 5 business days prior to the agency submission deadline.

Proposal Institutional Data

Most proposals require common data regarding the University and RAS.

Letters of Intent and Support

Sponsors request a LOI to determine interest for estimating the potential review workload and planning the reviews for a particular funding announcement or program.

PI Change of Institution

Occasionally, a Principal Investigator may accept an appointment in another institution before the expiration of an award received while employed by the University.

Limited Submissions

For funding opportunities in which only a limited number of proposal submissions is allowed, an additional pre-submission process will be led by Research Development in the Office.

Legal Agreement Negotiation

Contract/Legal agreements are made between the University and other entities not the individual.
